In February 2022, the International Organisation of Standardisation (ISO) approved STRATEGY Horizon 2020 project candidacy for a Liaison Category C. Horizon Europe project “STRATEGY” entitled “Facilitating EU pre-Standardisation process through streamlining and validating interoperability in systems and procedures involved in the crisis management cycle”, representing by Satways Ltd Project Coordinator. The category C is granted to organisations that make a technical contribution to and participate actively in the work of a working group.
EU-STRATEGY Project (Grant Agreement No 883520), has now an official liaison C category status in the ISO Technical Committee (ISO/TC) 292: Security and resilience and Working Group (WG) 3: Emergency Management. The project is considered an external organisation according to ISO Rules and as Category C liaison organisation has the right to participate as full member in a working group, maintenance team or project team but not as project leader or convenor (ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1, Subclauses 1.15, 1.16, 1.17 and Table 1).
The STRATEGY consortium is happy to announce that the above positive result took place after also the successful registration of STRATEGY as Liaison with the European Committee for Standardisation CEN/TC 391 “Societal and Citizen Security”, last November (2021). The CEN/TC 391 Liaison decision was taken by unanimity. The Liaison Organisation is willing to contribute to the work of identified CEN/TC 391 by providing added value expertise and high-quality contributions through direct participation of its representatives in their meetings, in accordance with the criteria established in CEN CENELEC Guide 25 and the Internal Regulations-Part 2. The STRATEGY Project is being represented in CEN/TC 391 and ISO/TC 292 WG3 by Dr. Aikaterini Poustourli, Security Standardisation Expert.
The unique participation of five national standardisation bodies (ASI, ASRO, SFS, SIS, UNE) in the history so far of H2020 R&I projects, was decisive for these successes and demonstrates the dynamics of fruitful collaborations among the ecosystems of Research, Innovation and Standardisation!
